Pay-by-Cell Parking in Montgomery County

Montgomery County in cooperation with MobileNOW! LLC operates a Pay-By-Cell service operating under the service name of ParkNOW! that is currently available at approximately 12,000 parking meters throughout Bethesda, Silver Spring, Wheaton, Montgomery Hills, and North Bethesda.

In each area, participating meters are individually labeled with cell phone parking instructions.

How the ParkNOW! Service Works

Before using the service, you need to register online and fund your pre-paid wallet in the ParkNOW! system. Every time you park, your pre-paid wallet will be debited accordingly. A $0.35 convenience fee will apply to each session on top of the regular parking fee. You may always check your account balance on your personal web page on parknow.us/moco or logging in using the form above on this page.

Please note that standard parking rules apply for pay-by-cell parking as well and parking beyond the maximum time allowable in a parking zone is not permitted.

Once registered and funded, simply …

Park by calling

Park at any meter with a Pay by Phone decal
Call 301-830-7074 with your cell phone.
Enter the meter location number (located on the meter decal).
Select the amount of time you wish to park.

When you return to your car, you may either allow the session to run until time expires, or you may call the same pay-by-cell to stop your parking session, and pay for time parked only. You will receive voice and text messages confirming the start and stop of your parking session.

Park by smartphone app

Download the ParkNOW! app from your phone's app store.
Open the downloaded app
Enter the location and meter number (located on the meter decal).
Select the amount of time you wish to park.
Select ParkNOW!

In the Woodmont Triangle Garage (or Garage 40) you may use the QR-code as follows:

Open the application and select Scan QR code.
Scan the QR code on the parking meter.
Select the amount of time you wish to park.
Select ParkNOW!
